What is the BPS Birmingham Future Leadership Development Programme?
BPS Birmingham Future is committed to help young professionals grow, both professionally and personally by building upon their existing bank of skills.
Adding to our existing personal and professional development events, we have launched the BPS Birmingham Future Leadership Development Programme, exclusively for Future members.
Launched in partnership with Aston Business School, this programme will provide Future members the opportunity to develop core leadership skills and style with a series of evening (6pm – 8pm) monthly training and speaker sessions on a range of topics over a nine month period. This course will provide participants with the tools needed to be effective leaders of the future.
What is the course programme?
Who is running the course?
The BPS Birmingham Future Leadership Development Programme is being launched in partnership with Aston Business School.
Aston Business School’s academics will lead sessions and take overall responsibility for delivering the programme alongside Future. We have also hand-picked some of the region’s senior leaders, each of whom will attend a session and provide ‘real life’ thoughts on how to implement your learning; what works, what doesn’t work, and how you can become a better leader.
How much time do I have to dedicate to the course?
The programme will involve a level of pre-course preparation, complementary reading and reflective homework, whilst taking into consideration participants’ work commitments.
There will be one session per month, from 6pm-8pm at Aston Business School.
Please note that participants will be expected to attend all eight Future Leadership Development Workshop sessions. With prior written notice, and in extenuating circumstances, one workshop session may be missed, however it will be the responsibility of the delegate to ensure that they receive details of course content in such an instance.
Who can apply?
The BPS Birmingham Future Leadership Development Programme is open to all Future members who have at least six years’ commercial experience working within the professional sector. You must also be presently in, or moving to, a senior level within your organisation.
The closing date for applications to participate in the 2016 – 2017 BPS Birmingham Future Leadership Development Programme is 5pm Friday 30 September.
How much does it cost?
The course is FREE and exclusively open to BPS Birmingham Future members.
The course is, however, worth a value of £4,000.
As places are limited for the programme, please be aware that non-attendance of two workshop sessions will result in non-completion of the programme and may incur a financial penalty based on the total value of the course.
How do I apply?
Places are limited and so will be awarded based on completion of the application form.
Download the above form and, once completed, send to firstname.lastname@example.org.
