WMCA Focus Groups – have your say!
March 1 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pmFREE
Do you want your views to be heard by key decision makers in the city?
At BPS Birmingham we’re committed to representing the interests of our members and offering key opportunities to actively influence policymakers and stakeholders in the city.
It’s in that spirit we’re supporting the work of the West Midlands Combined Authority’s Productivity & Skills Commission as it explores the importance of the professional services sector to the regional economy. As part of the deep-dive into the sector led by Ian Barnes, Chair of BPS Birmingham in partnership with City-REDI, part of the University of Birmingham and Black Country Consortium, we are hosting a series of focus groups to hear directly from young professionals within Birmingham’s BPS community.
Attendees will also be invited to contribute to a focus group for the WMCA’s Leadership Commission led by BPS board member Tim Rayner, examining how to make professional services more representative of the city’s demographics.
If you are a young professional working within the sector, particularly financial services, insurance, accountancy and law, and would like to have your say about working and living in this region, this is your perfect opportunity! Places are very limited so be sure to book early.
All discussions will be conducted on a no-names basis and no one will be directly quoted in the follow up. The findings of the overall work of the Commissions – into which these focus groups feed – will be publicly available and be shared with the WMCA Mayor Andy Street.
