Charles Jones
Senior Negotiator, Christie & Co

Senior Negotiator for hotels, pubs and restaurants at specialist property advisers Christie & Co, Charles has a wealth of experience supporting commercial clients with site sales, mergers and acquisitions, purchase advice, and competitor analysis. After graduating from the University of Leeds, he became the first ever graduate employed by CACI in the location planning group as an Associate Consultant, working with national clients including Nandos, Taylor Wimpey and Marstons. He is an ambassador for his sector, regularly speaking at industry events, and in his current role is responsible for organising team-building activities for his Birmingham-based colleagues.

Michael Parker
Associate Director, Gleeds

Now leading the National Performance Improvement service at construction consultancy Gleeds, Michael has had a significant career in the property and construction sector. After graduating from Cardiff University with a Master of Engineering degree, his career began with national housebuilder Taylor Wimpey. He has since held prominent positions with organisations including AECOM, Ernst and Young (EY), and Birmingham-based Curium Solutions. In addition to completing an MBA at Reading University, he is Lean Six Sigma certified and is a member of the Association of Project Management (MAPM). Outside of work, he is an Ambassador for charity LoveBrum, is a guest lecturer at a local university, and sits on the BPS Birmingham Infrastructure Committee.

Steve Townsend
Associate, Associated Architects

A Chartered Architect at Associated Architects, Steve has worked on a number of high-profile city centre projects including the National British Council for Offices award-winning Woodcock Street City Council offices. With a passion for office and residential-led development, he has helped steer the practice into the residential sector and helped it win its first PRS residential project. He now heads up the practice’s marketing, PR and business development and is a regular contributor to architecture and design journals. Steve is founder of the hugely-successful ‘Birmingham Hidden Spaces’ project, which showcases the city’s unseen architectural treasures and has seen thousands of people attend its events. He is also a NextGen committee member for the British Council for Offices, and immediate past chair of BPS Birmingham Future’s Infrastructure Committee.
