Meet our finalists for this year’s Finance category...

News Categories: bypyfuture

Each year, not only do we recognise one individual as Birmingham’s Young Professional of the Year, we also crown winners for each of our six categories.

The Finance award is given to those that have made a remarkable contribution to the financial services industry, this includes those who provide financial services or advice of finance including accountants, insolvency practitioners, financial planners, stockbrokers, insurance brokers and investment professionals.
With the big night only eight days away, let’s meet our finalists for 2017…

Adam Rollason
Corporate Tax Adviser, Higgs & Sons

Having gone straight from school into a trainee accountant role, Adam’s financial career has flourished. Qualified as both a Chartered Certified Accountant and Chartered Certified Tax Advisor, he was headhunted for his role as Corporate Tax Adviser at law firm Higgs & Sons. One of few chartered tax advisers to work in a client facing position in a legal practice, he provides taxation advice and planning to owner-managed businesses (OMB) and high net worth individuals. His commitment to his sector sees him on the OMB technical committee of the Chartered Institute of Tax (CIOT) – helping the organisation to provide formal responses to HMRC on tax legislation – as well as being a member of his local Birmingham CIOT committee.

Andy Lee
Regional Enterprise Manager, NatWest Bank

Having studied Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Birmingham, Andy stumbled into his banking career back in 2006 when he first joined RBS. Holding a number of significant roles at the Bank, he is now the Regional Enterprise Manager for the Midlands and East of England for NatWest Business Banking, working to support business growth and add value to SMEs. Outside of work, Andy is a governor at Selly Park Technology Academy for Girls; a director and trustee at counselling service Relate Birmingham; a member of Impact Hub Birmingham; and also a member of the Ethnic Diversity Alliance (EDA) at University of Birmingham Business School.

Chris Taylor
Director, Jasper Corporate Finance

A Director within Jasper Corporate Finance, Chris provides specialist advice on company disposals, acquisitions, MBOs and fundraising for businesses based in and around the Greater Birmingham region. Following his degree studies at Aston University, he joined the PwC graduate scheme where he gained his chartered accountancy qualifications and also worked for the firm on an audit placement in New Zealand. Alongside his current role, Chris is an Investment Director within Jasper Private Equity; sourcing opportunities, negotiating offers, and seeing deals through to completion. He has also been a mentor with the Aston University Professional Mentoring Scheme, supporting second year students with relevant industry partnerships.
