Every year, Birmingham Metropolitan College (BMet) awards a few select champions of education and training a Fellowship as a mark of recognition for sharing expertise and industry resources with Birmingham’s young people.
Rebecca Simkiss, co-founder and MD of SimkissGuy Recruitment and Immediate Past Chair of BPS Birmingham Future, has been selected to receive one of these honorary Fellowships in 2016. Rebecca has been acknowledged by BMet for being a significant driving force behind initiatives that inspire young people and play a crucial role in the lives of students entering the workplace to fulfil their ambitions.
Rebecca commented ‘Over the last few years I feel that BMet has taken huge strides in reaching out to the business community through ground-breaking initiatives such as the GBPSA. As employers I believe strongly that it is our duty and responsibility to work with educators to ensure that the next generation are coming into the workplace with not just the skills to succeed, but also the attitude and aspiration to reach their full career potential in whatever sector that may be.’
The awards ceremony is being held on Wednesday 23rd November at the Town Hall where the Fellowships will be presented.
