UK’s first professional services academy places interns in to professional firms as part of initiative to forge careers in the sector during Professional Services Week.
The Greater Birmingham Professional Services Academy (GBPSA), the first of its kind in the UK, is a key partner in Professional Services Week. Their support for this initiative builds on the extensive work already being undertaken by the Academy to skill students for a career in the sector and to support professional firms in their requirement to recruit talented young people to resource the continued growth in employment opportunities.
Starting on Monday 27th June, the first day of Professional Services Week, Academy students aged between 16 and 18 will be embarking on a range of internships at professional firms in the city:
Three internships will be happening at Gateley in their HR, Accounts and Client and Market Development Team.
Internships are starting at Barclays under their ‘Life Skills’ programme where nine GBPSA students will be placed over a 9 week period.
LaSerUK are also hosting four students on internships in Financial Security, HR, Resource Planning and Operations Governance.
GBPSA are supporting Professional Services Week activities with schools and are also running a Fringe event as part of the initiative.
Professional Services Week is all about helping students find out more about the opportunities that exist in sector by demystifying, demonstrating and discovering what professional firms can offer talented young people – the internships taking place during the week and beyond through the GBPSA mirror that aim perfectly.
