At BPS Birmingham Future we are proud of the achievements of our members and are always looking for opportunities to shout about the amazing work they do, as part of their Future membership and beyond.
In the recent Queen’s 2016 Birthday Honours, a host of Greater Birmingham businessmen and women were given accolades, including Joel Blake, who sits on Future’s Mentoring Committee.
Well-known across the region, Joel is the founder of Birmingham-based business advisory firm Cultiv8, co-founder of peer learning network HOT500 and Cofounder of BizBritain Finance. He was awarded an OBE for services to business support and enterprise, marking his dedication for encouraging entrepreneurialism and developing diversity talent.
Joel has over 15 years’ experience in developing diversity talent within organisations, advising professional service firms on their social impact strategies and mentoring small business owners. He has developed a credible reputation for his authenticity, his passion for integrating entrepreneurial thinking into corporate strategy, developing young people, and a natural ability to connect with leaders at all levels.
He joined our Mentoring Committee last year to help drive the strategy for the Future Mentoring Academy, drawing upon his experience across different sectors and with a variety of professionals. There are some exciting plans afoot for the Academy, which will be shared at The Handover on 18 August so make sure you save the date and join Rebecca Simkiss, when she hands over the Future Chair reins to Tara Tomes.
In the meantime, a huge congratulations to Joel from everyone at BPS Birmingham!
